Job Title: Training and Development Lead – 1st Shift

Reports To: Director of FSQA
FLSA: Non-Exempt Hourly
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour plus shift premium

Assigned under the general supervision and management of the Director of FSQA, to perform training where appropriate both on and off the floor, assist with developing training programs which provides performance support throughout the organization, to ensure the administration of training programs are in adherence of policies and practices within the Company.

• Be the liaison for new FSQA technicians for the onboarding process.
• Assist with developing training programs and procedures utilizing knowledge of relative effectiveness of individual training, classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, and workshops.
• Implement training programs that support effective utilization of policies / procedures while producing safe quality foods
• Train new FSQA technicians where appropriate and/or work with management to assign training of new technicians.
• Follow up each day with new FSQA technicians during their training period
o Complete record of meeting with new technicians
• Perform evaluation of new technicians to ensure they understand their tasks, that they are proficient and understand the importance before they are released to perform said tasks.
o Complete form of evaluation
• After 30 days of completion of all training, perform another evaluation of new technicians to ensure they are performing tasks to standard.
o Complete form of evaluation
• Collaborates with management to define learning program objectives and requirements
• Collaborates with team to analyze and recommend learning solutions that achieve desired outcomes
• Partners with team to design and source content for training programs supporting leadership development and functional excellence
• Manages training schedules for training programs and schedules for training programs
• Creates and maintains learning events and activities using Alchemy
• Assess training needs through Alchemy, surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultation with managers.
• Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or presentations.
• Interpreting the meaning of information for others such as translating or explaining what information means and how it can be used
• Back up for lead technicians
• Alternate weekend work with lead technicians
• Other duties as assigned

• Working knowledge of the principles and practices of training
• Knowledge of organizational planning, coordination, execution, including leadership techniques, resource allocation and staffing
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing employee services including needs assessment and employee satisfaction evaluation
• Knowledge of instructional methods and training techniques including curriculum design, learning theory, and group and individual teaching techniques
• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook with the ability to create training programs, presentations, etc.
• Working knowledge of Alchemy preferred
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP and SSOP
• Knowledge of BRC requirements
• Knowledge of prerequisite programs

2 Years of Institutional Courses related to Learning and Development, or 1-2 years of Training experience related to Learning and Development in training; or combination of education and related experience in HR.

Ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English. Bilingual in Spanish an added benefit.

Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts, such as percentages, ratios, fractions and proportions.

Ability to apply disciplined knowledge to analyze and resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

• Perform physical activities that require moving one’s whole body, such as lifting, stooping, bending from waist, turning and twisting

• Must possess enough visual abilities such as depth perception to position platform or other lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, or materials

Full time regular position works Monday through Friday with alternating Saturdays. Some travel may be required for training or conferences.

Work is a combination of climate- controlled office environment and cold or hot moist environments depending on area of the plant.
• The office environment is typically climate controlled of 68ºF to 72ºF and clean, with normal air contaminants, such as dust, typically found in an office environment
• The indoor production environment is climate-controlled of -40ºF to 45ºF with regular exposure to prolonged noise
• While in the production area, all employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include hair and beard nets, rubber soled shoes, smocks, and hearing protection and hard hats.
